Still Sweeping Your Kitchen? - 2 Smart Kitchen Design Solutions

Your current kitchen design may have all kinds of clever gadgets and appliances but the truth is that regardless of how modern it is you will need to take a broom to its floor once or twice a week unless you already own a 'smart' sweeping solution for your next kitchen design keep reading.

Unlike other rooms in the home that may have an open layout, the kitchen floor is often hard to get completely clean there are just so many nooks and crannies.

Fortunately sweeping is easy enough - all you need is a broom, a dustpan and a dust collection bag.

That said, there are some things you can do to make it easier to sweep your kitchen floor and even completely automate it.

One is to have a floor that is easy to sweep to start with. There are many types of kitchen floors available from The Kitchen Company, and there are some that are easy to sweep and some that aren't.

When you go shopping for a new kitchen floor try to make sure that you buy one that doesn't have too many grooves and doesn't require grout.

You want nothing to be left on the floor when you done sweeping and if it the floor has groves or grouting was used there will always be something trapped in there. This means it takes longer to sweep clean.

In fact, sweeping may not be enough - to get dirt out of grooves and grout you may literally have to get down on your knees with a vacuum cleaner or use a brush.

If you are not sure what kinds of kitchen floors are easy to sweep and maintain you can talk to your interior designer at The Kitchen Company or your current contractor.

Alternatively, talk to vendor of your floor. If you choose one who is experienced they can tell you a lot about what it takes to maintain different kinds of floors.

The longer you let your kitchen floor stay dirty the harder it is going to be to get it clean.

Many people, after preparing a meal, only clean the countertop. The next time you cook in your kitchen you should also vacuum clean or maintain the floor.

It helps to keep your kitchen 'clean' at all times. If you don't use your kitchen much you may be wondering if this is necessary.

As a matter of fact it is - dust accumulates all the time and if you don't vacuum and sweep or maintain your kitchen and it's floor from time to time the floor will end up becoming a mess.

At The Kitchen Company we also would like to introduce and focus on two new 'Smart Solutions' for vacuuming and sweeping kitchen floors.
